5 Facebook Tricks You Might Not Know

Facebook tends to still be the go-to platform for most nonprofits; they've built up followers, they have decent engagement, or they tend receive donations through either paid advertising or birthday fundraisers.

With recent updates to Facebook, here are a few tricks for your nonprofit to change it up, tone it down, and customize the platform to get the most out of it:

Send voice messages! With the rise of audio-based streaming apps like Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces, it’s quite the norm now to send voice messages on all platforms. When you’re engaging with a potential donor or customer, hit the record button and let them hear your voice. It not only helps to humanize your brand but it builds massive trust!

Use Text Delights! An easy way to showcase your brand personality is by using text delights. If you’ve ever typed something like “congratulations” or “wonderful time“ and noticed it pop up in a different color, you’ve found one! If that person clicks on that word, they enjoy a neat little animation! Here are a list of keywords for text delights:

  1. Wonderful time / Lovely time

  2. You’re the best

  3. Best wishes

  4. You’ve got this

  5. You can do it

  6. Rad

  7. Congratulations

  8. xoxo

Schedule Facebook stories! You can now schedule Facebook stories in the Business Suite desktop. With ever-changing social media algorithms, it’s harder for brands to get their name out there without paying for the engagement and views. By using Stories, Facebook is pushing this product and getting your name to the top of the list!

Use Video Polls in your advertising! Video poll ads are one of the newest additions to paid Facebook advertising, and they’ve already shown promising results in increasing brand awareness.

Add Integrations and Customizations to Your Page! Facebook allows you to integrate your page with other apps, tools, and platforms. These can increase the usability of your page as well as amplify your marketing efforts. Some examples include:

  1. Apps to run contests

  2. E-mail capture forms

  3. Quizzes

  4. Landing Pages

  5. E-commerce tabs
